About The Event
Lumen naturae (Latin: "the light of nature") is a phrase taken from the ancient alchemical texts. It is the light hidden in the heart of darkness. It is the bright spark that serves darkness with it's firelight. It is the illuminated darkness. The alchemists, wise sages that they are, "discover[ed] that in the very darkness of nature a light is hidden, a little spark without which the darkness would not be darkness... the lumen naturae is the light of the darkness itself" (Dr. Carl Jung).
In this illuminated darkness, we are whole. Nothing is wrong, nothing is lacking. Our bodies, hearts, and minds are exactly as they should be, exactly as they are. In this illuminated darkness, we are met, we are held, we are loved.
In this workshop, we will grapple with our understanding of this bright blackness. Through movement, meditation, and inner work, we will contend with our resistance to the perfection of what is, peeling back layer after layer of our own ignorance until we stand illuminated in the truth of our own rightness. We will actively align our unconscious & conscious minds, using the events of our life as a roadmap into our own inner truth. Through exposing what was previously hidden in a cloud of darkness, we will find our own lumen naturae.
No experience necessary. Please bring an open mind, a courageous heart, and a journal.
5Rhythms transcends dance. The movement is the medicine, the meditation and the metaphor. Together we peel back layers, lay masks down, and dance till we disappear…Only to rediscover ourselves through it all. Each rhythm is interpreted by individuals in a uniquely personal way, opening them to a new sense of freedom and possibility that is both surprising and healing, exhilarating as well as deeply restorative. It is, in essence, “exercise for the right brain.”
- Beginners and also experienced dancers are welcomed.
- Workshop will be bilingual, in English and Czech.
- We dance bare feet or in dance shoes.
I invite you to embark on or continue the dancing path.
