DESCRIPTION

Lumen naturae (Latin: "the light of nature") is a phrase taken from the ancient alchemical texts. It is the light hidden in the heart of darkness. It is the bright spark that serves darkness with it's firelight. It is the illuminated darkness. The alchemists, wise sages that they are, "discover[ed] that in the very darkness of nature a light is hidden, a little spark without which the darkness would not be darkness... the lumen naturae is the light of the darkness itself" (Dr. Carl Jung). 

In this illuminated darkness, we are whole. Nothing is wrong, nothing is lacking. Our bodies, hearts, and minds are exactly as they should be, exactly as they are. In this illuminated darkness, we are met, we are held, we are loved.
